Prayer to be Poor in Spirit
Almighty and external God, ruler of the universe, ever present around, beneath, above and within us, behold I come to be Poor in Spirit, O God. We know not what to do. Our mind is darkened. Our will is weak. We are weary and lonely and We ask again, “Lord, what will you have us to do about being Poor in Spirit?”
We find the circumstances of our life hard, at times, O God, We do not understand why things happen the way they do. Please, We beg you for the opportunity to serve you in some area of life that will assist in our support and that of others.
We do not ask for work that flatters our pride, We willing to do your will in humble ways, if only you will hear us. O Lord, We promise to work conscientiously and share your love with others, if only, dear Lord, you would answer us. We place our trust in you, dear Lord. Amen.
