Prayer for Gentleness
Spirit of God. In the lives of your lovers You provide the fruits of love, peace, patience, faithfulness and gentleness. Come with Your power to those whose life demands a special measure of these qualities. Keep love alive when fear and hate would overwhelm them. Work for peace amid the forces of evil. Instill patience in the hearts of those who suffer. Keep our men and women faithful when their tasks seem futile. As tensions multiply, help them to exercise gentleness, that with dignity and kindness they may serve you and their fellow brothers and sisters in their varied responsibilities. Help them to look forward to the day they will return home to you to join in the everlasting love-fest. Amen.
